Of Blessings and Curses
What would be the difference between a blessing and a curse? None of this ever is linked to the appearance of the blessing or the cursing. All is related to the inner state of self.
We first enter the path of illumination to gain either power, fame, money, sexuality, supernatural abilities, means to impress others, trying to become the Alpha wolf of the pack… and in the end, we find happiness, simply as it is, with a great sense of compassion.
If it is accurate that charity well done starts with yourself, then pride well done would start with others. Tell other they are good, and marvelous. Do not degrade yourself, do not degrade others. Appreciate that all is marvelous and beautiful, but do not mention it about yourself. Then you will know if you still need others to grace you with their compliments, and if it is so, that you must relieve yourself of gaining the attention of others. Find a way never to receive attention from others in the way that would please you. Find a way to receive attention from other in a way that pleases others, so that they will feel important when they try to make you feel important. Importance does not exist.
Be efficient at work. Show to yourself how good you are, and while you don’t brag about it, others will know. And if you start counting on others to approve of your competence, then you know you have to relieve yourself of this arrogance.
In your family, are you trying to establish a position? Do you try to show your authority so you can feel important, or simply to keep your family in good standing? Look at yourself. Authority is good with children, not violence, but authority. They will learn the immediate consequence to their actions, and learn about the law of karma, without violence.
In a couple, or with friends, are you trying to establish a position? Do you behave like a pack of wolves, or like individual souls in compassion with each other? Can you take care of your own self-esteem? Can you destroy from your mind the need of esteem? Can you destroy from your mind the idea that there is value, and make esteem and self-esteem obsolete?
Hence, what would be the difference between a blessing and a curse? None of this ever is linked to the appearance of the blessing or the cursing. All is related to the inner state of self.
